Cooperation between Hassan II University of Casablanca and University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra (Slovakia)

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 project, two Professors from Hassan II University of Casablanca, Dr. Khalid Lahlou and Dr. Abderrahim Chelfaouat, recently visited the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra (UKF), Slovakia, for a ten-day teaching mobility from October 9 to 18, 2024. This collaboration was initiated by Professor Roman Kralik from the Faculty of Arts at UKF.

The visit began with an official meeting with UKF’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, Assoc. Professor Martina Pavlikova, PhD., MBA., along with the two Moroccan professors. This meeting was a valuable opportunity for both institutions to discuss avenues for deepened collaboration. They jointly committed to strengthening ties through joint academic research, co-authorship of scholarly publications, and co-supervision of PhD dissertations. The professors also had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Daša Novačikova, Vice Dean for International Cooperation at the Faculty of Arts.

During the teaching mobility, Dr. Lahlou and Dr.Chelfaouat delivered lectures to students from various departments. They presented on topics such as “The Role of Culture in Strengthening Identity” for the English and American Studies Department, “An Overview of Moroccan Art: Traditional Carpets” for the German and Romance Languages Department, and “Media Literacy” for the Department of Journalism and New Media. These lectures offered rich opportunities for cultural exchange and insightful discussions with Slovak students.

Outside of their teaching commitments, the two professors enjoyed exploring the scenic city of Nitra, where they were struck by its beautiful landscapes. They expressed deep appreciation for the professionalism, kindness, and hospitality shown by their Slovak hosts, making this teaching mobility a memorable and impactful experience.
