Call for projects Thematic Research and Innovation Centers CTRI – UH2C


General Context :

As part of its policy to structure and enhance scientific research, Hassan II University of Casablanca (UH2C) is launching a Call for Projects within the framework of its Thematic Research and Innovation Centers (CTRI).

The CTRIs aim to bring together multidisciplinary expertise around priority themes with strong societal, economic, and environmental impact, in alignment with identified national and regional needs.

Their purpose is to strengthen the national and international visibility of UH2C’s research activities and to promote cross-disciplinary and collaborative approaches within the scientific community.

Objectives of the Call for Projects :

  • Address national and regional priorities in research, innovation, and technological development.
  • Bring together research laboratories around strategically important themes.
  • Promote multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity by mobilizing diverse areas of expertise.
  • Encourage the pooling of material, human, and financial resources.
  • Develop technical platforms and facilitate the acquisition of shared high-level scientific equipment within the CITT, to benefit UH2C researchers.
  • Strengthen UH2C’s participation in national and international competitive funding programs, such as PNARDI 2025–2028.
  • Enhance research in Human and Social Sciences and foster their integration into interdisciplinary issues.
  • Contribute to improving the scientific output and impact of the university.

Accredited Thematic Research and Innovation Centers (CTRI) :

  • Agro-Food Innovation and Food Security in Morocco (Sovereignty)
  • Water, Climate Change, Resilience, and Environment
  • Advanced Materials and Energy Autonomy in Morocco
  • Research and Studies on the Moroccan Sahara
  • Health, Sport, Well-being, and Health Autonomy in Morocco
  • Industrial Innovation and Economic Development in Morocco
  • Heritage and Territorial Development
  • Information Sciences, Technologies, and Cybersecurity
  • Art, Language, Culture, and Literature
  • Strategic Studies, Politics, and Governance

Projects submitted must address one or more of the themes of the accredited CTRIs.
An annex outlining the specific research axes for each CTRI will be provided for guidance

Eligibility :

  • Each project must be led by a consortium of UH2C-accredited research laboratories.
  • A consortium must include at least 6 accredited laboratories from a minimum of 3 different institutions and 2 distinct disciplinary fields.
  • The consortium may also include external partners, such as international laboratories, industrial actors, research-oriented institutions, local authorities, or NGOs.

Timeline :

  • Launch of the Call : June 4, 2025
  • Deadline for electronic submission : September 30, 2025 (Version électronique)
  • A CTRI Research Day will be organized soon.

A signed hard copy of the application, validated by the relevant institution, must be sent to the Research Division at the UH2C Presidency via official administrative channels before September 30, 2025. The stamp of the Bureau d’Ordre (BO) will serve as proof of submission.
